cybersecurity Kuwait:Cybersecurity specialists in cybersecurity Kuwait initiatives are advising the public to update their smartphone operating systems and activate two-factor authentication (2FA) across all applications to reduce the risk of hacking.
The National Cybersecurity Center has issued a warning about a recent rise in attempts to hack and steal social media accounts—especially WhatsApp—where attackers can sometimes gain access without any action from the user. In a statement posted on its official X platform on Friday, the center urged everyone to install the latest operating system updates, enable 2FA on all apps, and ensure their social media applications are updated to the newest versions.
The center also called on users to report any suspicious calls or messages to the relevant authorities, ignore such attempts, and never share verification codes or passwords under any circumstances.
It stressed that it is actively monitoring the situation and will provide additional updates to the public whenever necessary. Established in 2022, the National Cybersecurity Center leads cybersecurity Kuwait efforts and oversees the national strategy aimed at securing information networks, communication systems, and the exchange of data through all electronic channels.
