Ramadan School Hours Announced!

Kuwait: The Ministry of Education has announced the adjusted school hours during the month of Ramadan. In line with the observance of the holy month, schools will operate on shortened schedules to accommodate fasting students and staff members.

The Ministry has issued a comprehensive decision outlining the Ramadan school hours for all educational institutions, including public, special education, religious, and private Arab schools. Nur Al-Hamdan, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, announced the following schedule adjustments:

Kindergarten Classes:

  • Start: 9:40 am
  • End: 1:10 pm

Elementary School Classes:

  • Start: 9:40 am
  • End: 1:40 pm
  • Structure: Five classes, each comprising five 40-minute sessions.

Middle School Hours:

  • Start: 9:20 am
  • End: 1:50 pm
  • Structure: Six classes, each lasting 40 minutes.

High School Hours:

  • Start: 9:30 am
  • End: 2:00 pm
  • Structure: Six 40-minute classes.

In the directive, Al-Hamdan emphasized that the General Education Sector would issue detailed organizational circulars outlining the curriculum adjustments for each educational level during the sacred month of Ramadan. Moreover, the ministry will set the schedules for adult education and literacy centers. Special education schools will tailor their schedules to align with those of public schools at various levels, ensuring that their school days commence simultaneously.
