Kuwait to Enforce Outdoor Work Ban from June 1 to Protect Workers from Summer Heat

KUWAIT CITY – The Public Authority for Manpower has announced that the annual ban on outdoor work during peak afternoon hours will take effect on June 1, in line with Administrative Resolution No. 535/2015. The regulation prohibits the employment of workers in open areas between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily throughout the summer months of June, July, and August.tay updated on Kuwait’s latest news and job openings by following our WhatsApp channel!https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaCkXo25q08jnKrRwo27

As part of its implementation strategy, the Authority has begun forming specialized occupational safety inspection teams tasked with monitoring compliance. Surprise visits will be conducted at various worksites to detect violations, and legal action will be taken against non-compliant companies.

To support the initiative, an awareness campaign has already launched in early May under the slogan #Their_Safety_Is_More_Important, featuring multilingual educational content across social media platforms.

Officials emphasized that the resolution aims to protect workers from the severe heat that characterizes Kuwait’s summer, noting that outdoor labor during this period can be extremely hazardous. The ban is designed to organize work schedules and safeguard health, rather than reduce overall working hours.

The Authority noted that the regulation has been widely accepted by companies across multiple sectors in previous years and is aligned with Kuwait’s commitment to upholding international labor standards related to worker safety during extreme weather conditions.

Business owners are strongly urged to comply with the directive to avoid penalties and contribute to protecting the well-being of their employees during the intense summer months.
