Avenues Mall Hosts Closing Ceremony of “Indian Mango Week” in Kuwait

The Avenues Mall in Kuwait recently hosted the closing ceremony of Indian Mango Week, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of India in collaboration with the Agricultural and Processed Food Export Development Authority (APEDA).

The event drew senior Kuwaiti officials, heads of diplomatic missions, media representatives, and enthusiasts of the world-famous tropical fruit. It forms part of a wider series of promotional initiatives by the Indian Embassy aimed at boosting trade ties with Kuwait and showcasing the quality and variety of Indian mangoes and agricultural products.

Showcasing India’s Finest Mango Varieties

An Indian trade delegation featuring ten leading mango exporters participated in the celebration. The “Mango Mania” festival highlighted premium mango varieties, including Chausa, Mallika, Amrapali, Dasheri, Fazli, and Langra, sourced from the renowned states of Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

Strengthening Agricultural Trade Partnerships

In parallel with the event, the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a business meeting between Indian mango exporters and local importers to explore opportunities for agricultural trade partnerships. The meeting was attended by Ambassador Swaika and the Chamber’s Director General.

Highlighting the growing trade relations, the Indian ambassador noted that Kuwait ranks among the top five global markets for Indian mangoes, with imports valued at approximately $3 million in 2024.

Expanding Bilateral Trade

Through initiatives like Indian Mango Week, India aims to strengthen its position as a trusted supplier of high-quality mangoes and value-added agricultural products in Kuwait. The event underscores the deepening economic and cultural ties between the two nations.
