The Environment Public Authority has urged citizens and residents to refrain from throwing food or waste in public areas, warning that such behavior constitutes an environmental violation.
In a statement published on its official X account, the authority referred to recent social media posts showing people discarding food in public spaces to feed animals such as birds and cats.
The authority stressed that this practice is a direct violation of Environmental Protection Law No. (42) of 2014, as amended by Law No. (99) of 2015. Article (33) of the law clearly prohibits throwing garbage or waste outside designated containers. Offenders may face fines of up to 500 Kuwaiti dinars.
The authority called on the public to respect environmental laws, avoid such practices, and contribute to preserving cleanliness, community health, and the environment.
