The Al-Ajari Scientific Center announced that the current heat wave in Kuwait will ease starting Sunday, August 24, with the arrival of the Suhail season, which lasts for 52 days until October 14.

During this period, temperatures will start to drop below 50°C, nights will feel cooler, and humidity will rise, especially near the coast. Rain is also possible as humidity increases in the final days of the Kulaibin season.

The main signs of Suhail are cooler weather, the end of extreme heat, and southeasterly winds that replace the hot summer winds. The land cools, shade becomes longer, morning dew appears, and leafy plants start to grow. Water and air also feel cooler as the sun tilts southward.

Astronomers note that the Suhail star can usually be seen in Kuwait’s sky around September 4 at dawn, marking the shift to longer nights and shorter days.
