The Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport announced the completion of the first phase of designing the main passenger station for the Kuwait railway project, as part of its plans to develop the mass transit system and provide modern infrastructure that keeps pace with the requirements of urban and economic growth in the country.
Sources from the authority explained to Al-Jarida that the first phase included preparing the plans and initial designs for the station, which will form a central point for linking Kuwait to the future Gulf railway network, noting that the design took into account the highest standards of safety and quality, in addition to providing integrated service and commercial facilities for passengers.
They added that the Kuwait railway project is considered one of the strategic projects in the land transport sector, and aims to enhance regional connectivity and improve transport efficiency between cities and border crossings, stressing that work continues on the next stages of design, in preparation for the start of actual implementation during the coming period.
