The Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, has officially launched the Salem electronic application, marking a major milestone in Kuwait’s digital transformation strategy. The new platform aims to improve access to medical services and make health procedures faster and more convenient for citizens and residents.

During the launch event at the Government Communication Center—attended by the Minister of State for Communications Omar Al-Omar and senior health officials—Dr. Al-Awadhi explained that Salem will replace the Kuwait Health app and provide a more advanced, user-friendly experience.

Unified Access to Health Services

The Salem electronic application offers a wide range of digital services, including:

  • Easy appointment booking for health centers and hospitals
  • Access to medical files, prescriptions, and treatment plans
  • Viewing lab results, radiology reports, and vaccination records
  • Early-warning notifications, reminders, and preventive checkup alerts
  • Integration with other government health systems for faster emergency response
  • Apple Pay support for quick and cashless payments

All hospitals across the six governorates are included, giving users direct access to departments and services. The Ministry also confirmed that appointments with visiting doctors from abroad will become available through the app in the coming months.

A National Digital Health Milestone

Minister Omar Al-Omar praised the Ministry of Health for this achievement, highlighting full support from the Ministry of Communications in ensuring seamless connectivity through the National Data Exchange Platform.

Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Health Affairs, Eng. Adel Al-Rashidi, revealed that more than 30 separate health systems have been integrated into one platform, bringing together over 100 million health records for faster, more efficient access.

Ministry spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad described Salem as the next generation of national health applications, noting that Kuwait now joins advanced countries moving toward comprehensive digital healthcare. He emphasized that digital transformation is not the goal itself—it is a tool to improve healthcare quality and accessibility under Kuwait Vision 2035.

With Salem, healthcare services are now unified on a single platform, allowing citizens and residents to complete their medical procedures easily without repeated visits to health facilities.
