May 28, 2025 – Apple has implemented new price hikes for its iCloud+ subscription service in Brazil, Chile, and Peru, affecting all storage plans ranging from 50 GB to 12 TB, according to a report by technology news outlet MacRumors.
In Brazil, the increase is the most notable in percentage terms, with the 50 GB plan rising from R$4.90 to R$5.90, marking a 20% hike. The top-tier 12 TB plan jumped from R$299.90 to R$399.90. This price adjustment is speculated to be linked to the depreciation of the local currency.
In Peru, iCloud+ prices have reportedly risen by around 23%, while in Chile, the increase is more modest at approximately 8%. Apple has not provided an official explanation for the adjustments in any of the three countries.
These recent changes follow a broader trend: in 2024, Apple raised iCloud+ prices in at least 10 other countries, including Egypt, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Turkey, Pakistan, Nigeria, Tanzania, and the Philippines.Stay updated on Kuwait’s latest news and job openings by following our WhatsApp channel!https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaCkXo25q08jnKrRwo27
However, major markets such as the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada have not yet been affected by any iCloud+ price revisions.
The price adjustments apply to all iCloud+ plans, which offer users enhanced cloud storage, privacy features like Private Relay, and custom email domains. Users in the affected regions will see the new pricing reflected in their upcoming billing cycles.
