Kuwait City, October 18, 2025 — The Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport, in coordination with the General Traffic Department, has announced the opening of Damascus Street from the Fifth Ring Road towards the South Surra area.
The reopening extends up to Ibrahim Al-Muzain Street in Al-Zahraa and includes the full opening of intersections along Damascus Street with Abdullah Al-Hamidi and Ali Al-Asousi Streets.
According to the announcement, traffic will now flow from the Fifth Ring Road for those coming from Salmiya to Damascus Street, and vice versa, allowing motorists to access the Fifth Ring Road towards Salmiya. The route will also serve users exiting from Surra opposite the Fifth Ring Road heading to Damascus Street towards South Surra.
The reopening will officially take effect on Sunday at midnight (12:00 a.m.) — Monday morning, October 20, 2025.
Authorities urge drivers to follow the new traffic signs and directions for smooth and safe movement along the newly opened route.
