The Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, inaugurated the integrated dental department at Al-Adan Hospital this morning, in the presence of Assistant Undersecretary for Dental Affairs Dr. Ahmed Asad, Director of the Dental Department Dr. Jaber Taqi, Director of Al-Adan Hospital Dr. Hussein Al-Shammari, and a number of health leaders and medical and technical staff.
The Ministry confirmed in a statement that the opening of this department comes within the framework of its strategy to enhance the health services system and develop the medical infrastructure in various government hospitals. This initiative aims to meet the growing needs of society and strengthen the quality and efficiency of healthcare services, including the newly launched dental clinic services in Al Adan Hospital.
Dr. Al-Awadhi explained that the department includes three specialized dental clinics, a dental radiology unit, and a sterilization room equipped with the latest devices. These facilities ensure the provision of integrated dental care according to the highest international medical standards and contribute to supporting the hospital’s services while improving the quality of patient care.
Officials noted that the launch of this department comes as part of a series of advanced steps taken by the Ministry’s Department of Dentistry to expand its range of services and provide comprehensive dental care to all segments of society — especially bedridden patients and those who need long-term hospital stays.
They added that this approach aims to make dental treatment services more accessible within the same facilities where patients receive their primary medical care, thereby enhancing integration and ensuring a more complete treatment experience.
They also pointed out that the opening of this department complements what the Ministry has recently achieved by launching similar dental clinic services in Al Adan Hospital, as well as in Al-Jahra Hospital and Al-Farwaniyah Hospital, within a comprehensive vision aimed at providing specialized dental services in public hospitals. This initiative further reinforces the importance of dentistry as an essential part of Kuwait’s healthcare system.
The Ministry affirmed its commitment to continuing expansion projects, upgrading health facilities, and equipping them with qualified national personnel and advanced equipment.
