A Kuwait Airways flight bound for the Philippines experienced a minor incident early Friday morning at Kuwait International Airport, but all 284 passengers and crew members are safe.
Civil Aviation spokesman Abdullah Al-Rajhi confirmed that flight number KU417, scheduled to depart for the Philippines at 4:24 AM, encountered an emergency technical malfunction in the braking system while moving on the runway.

In a statement shared through the Directorate’s official account on the “X” platform, Al-Rajhi clarified that the issue resulted in minor damage to the aircraft’s body but caused no injuries among passengers or crew. The technical teams immediately responded, securing the aircraft and conducting all necessary inspections in line with international safety standards.
An alternative Kuwait Airways flight was arranged and successfully departed at 12:20 PM to its destination.
Al-Rajhi emphasized that the safety of passengers and flight crews remains the top priority for both Civil Aviation and Kuwait Airways, assuring that incidents like this are handled with the utmost care and compliance with the highest global air safety regulations.
