New York:The State of Kuwait, speaking on behalf of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, has praised the efforts of the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the United States of America for their crucial role in mediating a comprehensive ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement delivered before the Fourth Committee on Decolonization Items at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Kuwait highlighted the significance of these efforts in securing the release of hostages and prisoners, as well as ensuring the continuous and safe delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The statement emphasized that this agreement represents a vital step toward launching a serious political process aimed at ending the occupation and achieving a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace in the region.
Kuwait reaffirmed the GCC’s collective support for all diplomatic and humanitarian initiatives that contribute to regional stability and sustainable peace.
