The Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday that it had carried out extensive security campaigns across all governorates as part of its ongoing efforts to uphold law and order and track down wanted individuals.
According to the ministry’s statement, the campaigns were overseen by the Head of the Security Directorates Affairs Sector, Major General Hamad Al-Munifi, and resulted in a total of 638 arrests and violations.
Breakdown of Arrests and Violations
- 46 wanted individuals (criminal cases, debtors, absenteeism, and immigration investigations)
- 26 residency law violators
- 19 individuals without identification
- 16 drug-related cases
- 9 illegal workers
- 1 vehicle impounded
- 13 cases involving intoxicants and alcohol
- 8 wanted vehicles seized (judicial orders)
- 17 cases of expired residency
- 2 arrests for intoxication
- 2 arrests for abnormal behavior
- 1 individual referred for psychiatric evaluation
- 2 gambling-related arrests
- 1 juvenile arrested for driving without a license
- 1 street vendor detained
- 481 traffic violations recorded
Ongoing Security Efforts
The Ministry reaffirmed that its security campaigns will continue across all governorates, stressing that all legal measures will be taken against violators to safeguard the security and stability of the country and ensure the safety of its citizens and residents.
