The Municipality praised the efforts of all participating entities — both governmental and civil — for their contributions in promoting community participation and instilling a sense of social responsibility. These collective efforts aim to protect the natural beauty of Kuwait’s marine islands and spread a culture of environmental preservation.
Officials highlighted the need for cooperation from all segments of society, especially as the summer season draws more visitors to the islands who come to enjoy their scenic landscapes. They noted that clean marine environments are essential to supporting sustainable marine tourism in the country.
The administration emphasized the ongoing nature of the awareness campaign, which has already carried out clean-up efforts on Failaka Island and Umm Al-Maradim, with support from government entities, civil society, cooperative societies, and volunteers. The campaign will continue in the coming weeks, expanding to Qaruh, Kubbar, and other Kuwaiti islands, with further updates to be announced soon.
