The Kuwait Municipality has issued an official decision to evacuate and demolish 67 properties in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, citing safety concerns for residents and the public. The directive requires owners to remove the unsafe buildings within two weeks from the publication of the decision in the official gazette.
According to a statement by the Director General of Kuwait Municipality, Manal Al-Asfour, the decision was based on detailed reports from the Government Center for Testing, Quality Control, and Research at the Ministry of Public Works, along with letters from the Deputy Director General of the Municipality for the Farwaniya and Mubarak Al-Kabeer governorates and the Legal Department. These reports confirmed that the listed buildings were structurally unsafe and posed an imminent threat to lives, property, and public safety.
The municipality emphasized that property owners are responsible for ensuring the buildings are fully evacuated and demolished within the allotted period. Should the owners fail to comply, the municipality will proceed with demolition at the owners’ expense after confirming that the properties are completely vacated.
This Kuwait Municipality demolition initiative aims to protect residents and maintain public safety while ensuring compliance with building regulations and safety standards.
