Kuwait Weather Alert:The Meteorology Department has forecast a significant rise in humidity overnight and into tomorrow morning, increasing the likelihood of fog and reduced visibility across several areas.
Acting Director of the Meteorological Department, Darrar Al-Ali, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that humidity levels are expected to rise noticeably in coastal regions during the night hours until Saturday morning. As a result, horizontal visibility may drop to less than 1,000 meters in some locations due to fog formation.
Al-Ali explained that weather charts indicate the country will experience light to moderate southeasterly winds, accompanied by higher relative humidity, resulting in humid conditions—particularly in coastal areas—through the night and early morning.
He added that the chances of fog formation are increasing, which may significantly reduce visibility in certain areas. Beginning tomorrow morning, the influence of a low-pressure system is expected to gradually move in from the west, leading to the development of low and medium clouds and creating opportunities for light, scattered, and occasionally thundery rain during the afternoon.
Al-Ali noted that light to moderate southeasterly winds, occasionally becoming active, will cause sea waves to rise above six feet. Humid weather and the possibility of fog will continue during nighttime hours.
He also mentioned that rain chances may persist until Monday afternoon, after which cloud cover and rainfall are expected to decrease gradually, with winds shifting to a light to moderate northwesterly direction.
