Kuwait weather: The Al-Ujairi Scientific Center announced that the third phase of the Wasim season, known as “Al-Ghafr,” begins today, Tuesday, November 11, and will last for 13 days. This marks the start of the second half of the Wasim season, a period when temperatures typically begin to drop noticeably across the country.
In a press statement, the center explained that Al-Ghafr represents the seventh phase of autumn, characterized by cooler weather and more moderate daytime temperatures. During this period, nights grow longer and days shorter, with the Asr (afternoon) prayer reaching its earliest time of the year—starting at 2:34 PM and gradually shifting to 2:31 PM.
The center also noted that the length of the night extends to 13 hours and 12 minutes, while sunrise occurs at 6:08 AM at the beginning of the period and 6:19 AM by its end.
According to the agricultural calendar, this period is ideal for planting winter grains and fertilizing and tilling date palms.
Al-Ujairi further highlighted that Al-Ghafr marks the onset of winter phenomena in Kuwait — with colder nights, moderate days, stronger daytime winds, rough seas, and cooler morning water temperatures, signaling the gradual transition into winter.
