The Public Authority for Manpower announced today (Saturday) that it will begin enforcing a ban on working in open areas from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., starting tomorrow (Sunday) and continuing until the end of August.
According to the Authority’s Acting Director, Marzouq Al-Otaibi, the move is in line with Administrative Resolution No. 535/2015, which prohibits outdoor work during the hottest summer months. Inspection teams will conduct surprise visits to work sites to monitor compliance and take legal action against any violations.
The decision aims to protect workers from the extreme heat, which makes it unsafe and difficult to work during midday hours. Al-Otaibi clarified that the goal is to regulate working hours for safety, not to reduce overall work time, and emphasized that ongoing projects should continue without disruption.
He also noted that in past years, many companies have welcomed and supported the rule, as it reflects Kuwait’s commitment to international labor standards and the well-being of workers.stay updated on Kuwait’s latest news and job openings by following our WhatsApp channel!https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaCkXo25q08jnKrRwo27
