Ministry of Commerce Closes Six Recruitment Offices and a Shop for Major Violations

The Ministry of Commerce has shut down six domestic worker recruitment offices and a shop selling counterfeit car accessories after uncovering serious violations during a recent inspection campaign.

The operation, part of a broader effort by the Ministry of Trade and Industry to enforce market regulations and uphold consumer rights, was led by the Reports Committee of the Commercial Control Department. The closures followed a series of field inspections that revealed significant breaches of laws and regulations governing recruitment practices and commercial activity in the country.

According to an official statement, the recruitment offices were found to have violated employment contract regulations, misled clients with false or inconsistent information, and failed to disclose clear financial terms and service details. These actions were deemed violations of consumer protection laws and damaging to public trust in the labor market.tay updated on Kuwait’s latest news and job openings by following our WhatsApp channel!https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaCkXo25q08jnKrRwo27

In a separate case, inspectors identified a commercial shop selling counterfeit car accessories bearing registered trademarks without proper authorization. The Ministry noted that such counterfeit products not only breach intellectual property rights but also pose safety risks to consumers due to the potential use of substandard materials.

Following the completion of all legal procedures, the Ministry ordered the administrative closure of the violating establishments. Officials emphasized that inspection campaigns will continue with increased intensity and warned that all violations—regardless of type—will face strict enforcement measures, including closure and referral to the Commercial Prosecution.

The Ministry concluded by urging citizens and residents to report any suspected violations through official communication channels, reinforcing its commitment to a transparent, safe, and law-abiding commercial environment.
