The Ministry of Health has announced that pilgrims can receive vaccinations and health certificates at preventive health departments in primary healthcare centers across Kuwait.
Required Vaccinations Before Hajj:
- Meningococcal vaccine
- COVID-19 vaccine (for certain groups)
The COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for:
- People aged 65 and above
- Pregnant women
- People with chronic health conditions (heart, lung, kidney, or nervous system diseases)
- Those with hereditary blood disorders (like sickle cell anemia or thalassemia)
- People with weakened immune systems
To prove COVID-19 immunity, pilgrims must have:
- One dose of the updated COVID-19 vaccine for 2024–2025, OR
- Completed basic doses (at least two doses between 2021 and 2023), OR

Recommended Additional Vaccines:
- Seasonal flu vaccine
- Pneumococcal (bacterial pneumonia) vaccine
For Family Members (Contacts of Pilgrims):
- Family members who haven’t taken the meningitis vaccine or were vaccinated more than five years ago should take one dose.
Other Recommended Vaccines:
The Ministry also encourages updating vaccines for:
- Diphtheria
- Tetanus
- Whooping cough
- Polio
- Measles
- Chickenpox
- Mumps
All vaccines provided by the Ministry of Health are approved by Saudi health authorities for Hajj. The Ministry advises taking all necessary vaccines at least 10 days before travel for maximum protection.
