MoI Announces Continued Support for Residency Law Regularization
Kuwait: The Ministry of Interior in Kuwait has launched a new public awareness campaign, “Regularize Your Status or Depart,” aimed at individuals residing in the country with unresolved residency violations. Streamlined Process for Residency Compliance
The campaign builds upon an amnesty program introduced in March 2024. This program provided residency law violators with the option to either leave the country without incurring fines or rectify their residency with any applicable penalties settled. Initial estimates suggested approximately 120,000 individuals were in violation, and the program has seen a significant number take advantage of this opportunity.
Promoting Transparency and Compliance
The Ministry of Interior’s current campaign emphasizes their commitment to facilitating a clear and accessible process for resolving residency irregularities. This initiative aims to achieve full compliance with residency regulations and ensure a transparent system for both departures and legalizations.
The campaign encourages violators to visit the Directorate General of Residency Affairs (DGRA) in their respective governorates to initiate the appropriate procedures. This streamlined approach allows individuals to address their residency status efficiently and avoid potential legal ramifications associated with non-compliance, reported Arab Times.
