Kuwait City:As part of its efforts to strengthen security and safeguard public spaces, the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) has announced plans to install surveillance cameras across public parks in Kuwait. The initiative aims to monitor visitor activities, prevent vandalism, and ensure appropriate public behavior.

According to informed sources speaking to Al-Rai, the project is currently awaiting budget approval from relevant authorities, with implementation expected to begin next year. The move is part of a comprehensive plan to enhance park management, improve maintenance, and promote a clean, safe environment for families and visitors.

The sources stressed that public cooperation and responsible behavior play a vital role in preserving these recreational areas. They noted that many of the recurring issues in parks — such as littering, damage to trees, and destruction of public facilities — stem from a lack of adherence to cleanliness and respect for public property.

The successful trial of surveillance cameras at Shuwaikh Beach served as a model for this initiative. The system there significantly reduced acts of vandalism and improved overall cleanliness, leading the authority to consider similar installations in all public parks.

In addition to the surveillance project, PAAAFR is advancing several new beautification and development projects, including the creation of public parks in new residential areas such as Sabah Al-Ahmad City, Jaber Al-Ahmad City, and Abdullah Al-Mubarak Area. These efforts reflect Kuwait’s ongoing commitment to expanding green spaces and improving the quality of life for residents.
