Security Campaigns Across Kuwait Result in Major Arrests and Vehicle Seizures

A week-long series of intensive security and traffic campaigns conducted across all governorates has resulted in over 27,000 violations, dozens of arrests, and hundreds of vehicle impoundments, according to senior officials from the Ministry of Interior.

Colonel Fahad Al-Essa, Director of the Traffic Awareness Department, reported that 27,265 traffic violations were issued during the campaigns. Authorities also impounded 266 vehicles and 7 motorcycles, and arrested 37 reckless drivers. Notably, 78 juveniles were caught driving without licenses and were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution Office.

Traffic patrols handled 2,465 incidents, including 976 traffic collisions, with 158 involving injuries. They also referred 56 wanted individuals to relevant authorities, including cases related to absenteeism, residency law violations, and criminal charges. Additionally, 55 vehicles wanted by security or judicial authorities were seized, along with three drug-related cases, 24 individuals without identification, and 92 residents with expired residency permits.

The General Directorate of Emergency Police also launched targeted field campaigns, conducting 1,446 security operations that led to the arrest of 168 wanted individuals for various offenses, including criminal activity, residency violations, and failure to appear in court.

Emergency patrols referred 31 individuals to the Drug Control Department for suspected drug use and possession. They also arrested 22 people for drunkenness and eight for possessing intoxicating substances.

In terms of traffic enforcement, emergency police patrols issued 4,588 violations, handled 115 accidents, including two run-over cases, six fight reports, and responded to 442 emergency calls. They also referred three vehicles to impound and seized 71 vehicles flagged by judicial authorities.

Colonel Al-Essa emphasized the Ministry’s continued commitment to maintaining public safety and order, noting that field campaigns and coordinated security efforts will persist in all regions to enforce the law and protect the public.
