Kuwait City: The Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of three Asian nationals for running a counterfeit perfume factory in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, as part of its ongoing campaign to combat crimes related to intellectual property violations and commercial fraud.
The operation was carried out by the Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Department of Criminal Investigation – Department for the Protection of Public Morals and Combating Human Trafficking, in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Kuwait Municipality.
Authorities revealed that the suspects were manufacturing and storing counterfeit international and local perfumes with the intention of distributing them to the local market, coinciding with the upcoming Perfume Exhibition.
During the raid, officials seized more than 15,000 perfume packaging boxes and 28,000 empty bottles ready for filling and sale. The illegal factory was subsequently dismantled and destroyed, and the seized materials were referred to the competent authorities for legal action.
The Ministry emphasized its commitment to protecting consumers and fighting commercial fraud in all forms, urging the public to report any suspicious or illegal activities that could threaten public safety or economic stability by calling the emergency number (112) or contacting the Ministry through its official channels.
