As part of ongoing efforts to protect wildlife and conserve natural reserves, the Security Directorates Sector, through the Environmental Police Department, arrested two individuals for entering the Sabah Al-Ahmad Nature Reserve without a valid permit and attempting to hunt wildlife using falcons.

The suspects were monitored within the reserve’s boundaries, and all necessary measures were taken in accordance with laws governing protected environmental areas. These regulations aim to preserve biodiversity and prevent activities that could harm the natural environment.

Article 105 of the Environmental Protection Law prohibits introducing non-native animals or plants into reserves, obstructing conservation efforts, harming wild or marine creatures, or hunting, capturing, or chasing wildlife. Violators face penalties of up to one year in prison, a fine between KD 500 and KD 5,000, or both.

The accused have been referred to the competent authorities to face legal action. The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing environmental laws strictly and urged all individuals to follow regulations and obtain necessary permits before entering nature reserves to ensure the protection of wildlife and natural habitats.
