Extreme Heat & Dust Storms Forecast for Kuwait This Weekend
The Meteorological Department has forecast an exceptionally hot weekend across Kuwait, with soaring temperatures and occasional dust storms affecting several areas.
Dharar Al-Ali, Acting Director of the department, told the Kuwait News Agency that the country is currently under the influence of an extension of the Indian seasonal low, accompanied by an intense hot air mass. He noted that northwesterly to variable winds, light to moderate in speed and occasionally active, are expected to trigger dust storms in open areas, along with the appearance of scattered clouds.
Thursday Forecast
Thursday will see very hot daytime conditions, with northwesterly winds ranging from 15 to 45 km/h, occasionally causing dust in exposed regions. Maximum temperatures are projected to reach between 48°C and 50°C. The sea is expected to be light to moderate, with waves rising between 2 and 6 feet.
By night, temperatures will remain hot to very hot, with lows ranging from 33°C to 35°C and winds between 12 and 35 km/h. Friday Forecast
Friday is expected to bring continued extreme heat, with maximum temperatures between 47°C and 49°C. Winds will remain northwesterly at 12 to 38 km/h, with light to moderate sea conditions and waves between 1 and 4 feet. Nighttime will remain hot, with lows between 32°C and 34°C, scattered clouds, and similar sea conditions.
Saturday Forecast
Saturday will maintain very hot conditions, with northwesterly to variable winds at 10 to 38 km/h and scattered clouds. Daytime highs are expected to reach between 48°C and 50°C. The sea will remain light to moderate, with waves of 2 to 4 feet.
By night, the weather will stay hot to very hot and relatively humid in coastal areas. Winds will shift between 12 and 32 km/h, while minimum temperatures are forecast between 33°C and 35°C. Sea waves are expected to remain between 1 and 4 feet.
The Meteorological Department urged residents to take necessary precautions during peak heat hours and to remain alert for dust storms in open areas.
