Hot Weather and Dusty Winds Expected Today and Tomorrow, Says Meteorology Department

KUWAIT – The Meteorology Department has forecast very hot weather for Sunday and Monday, with moderate to active northwesterly winds reaching speeds of up to 45 km/h. These winds are expected to raise dust in open areas, while residential areas may also be affected to a lesser extent.

Acting Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, told the Kuwait News Agency that the country is currently affected by the Indian monsoon depression, which brings with it an extremely hot air mass.Stay updated on Kuwait’s latest news and job openings by following our WhatsApp channel!https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaCkXo25q08jnKrRwo27

Al-Ali noted that temperatures at the start of summer have already reached 51°C in some areas. The northwesterly winds, sometimes brisk, have caused dust storms, particularly in exposed and open regions.

For the next two days, maximum temperatures are expected to range between 45°C and 48°C across most inland areas. However, the monsoon-related low-pressure system is forecast to intensify further, pushing temperatures even higher.

From Tuesday to Thursday, temperatures could rise to between 48°C and 51°C, accompanied by light to moderate northwesterly winds, Al-Ali added.

Residents are advised to take precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid outdoor exposure during peak heat hours.
